Tips for Safe and Healthy Diwali

Tips for Safe and Healthy Diwali

Diwali is the festival of light and togetherness. It is the celebration of victory of good over evil and an exciting time for kids as well as elders. Light, new clothes, sweets and crackers, all of this make the festival super special. Here are some smart tips to ensure safe and healthy diwali.

    Wear cotton clothes:

Dress right for Diwali as well as while lighting firecrackers. Avoid wearing nylon material as it’s easily inflammable. Also, make sure your kids are wearing slippers while handling the crackers.

    Buy quality crackers:

Make sure you buy the crackers from licensed dealers. Also, check the brand and do not buy cheap crackers. Not just this, consider the age of your baby before buying crackers. Ensuring the safety of your children should be your priority, so do not compromise there.

    Wear glasses:

The smoke and pollution from crackers harms our eyes. Thus, it doesn’t hurt to cover one’s eyes by wearing an anti-glare glass.

    Keep water and sand around:

Sand helps to extinguish fire faster than water. So, fill your buckets with sand and some with water to stay prepared for safety

    Use incense sticks

Instead of lighting a matchbox each time, use an incense stick. It helps to give some time to step back from the cracker before it bursts.

    Don’t use sanitizers:

Hand sanitizers which are alcohol-based before lighting diyas or candles. Sanitizers are inflammable and can cause fire hazards. It is recommended by the experts that you wash your hands with soap and water, after doing anything that involves crackers. Keep your sanitizer bottles at a safe spot.

    Wear a Mask:

It is significant to be responsible and take mandatory precautions. Covid-19 has made the use of mask necessary. Therefore, every time you step out, don't forget to cover your nose and mouth.

    Kids Safety:

Do not leave your child alone while he/she is bursting the crackers. Accompany them and ask them to be careful. Make sure an elder is always with your child.

Nimmadhi Wishing you a safe and healthy Diwali 2021 to all.
